Become a Guest Author

We welcome guest posts from anyone in tune with the scoliosis community. After you’ve read through the expectations and types of posts we’re looking for, use the form below to submit your ideas. We’re happy to provide guidance and support to move great posts toward publication on our blog.

Expectations of Guest Writers

We expect the following from guest writers:

  • Substantive, original content about scoliosis and how to better understand or treat the condition
  • Respond to comments on your posts quickly (and of course be respectful)
  • Many of our blog posts are between 800 and 1,000 words, but we’re open to great scoliosis posts running a little longer (or shorter) as long as they cover the topic adequately

Blog Post Qualities

We’d like every blog post we publish to have the following qualities:

Clear

Your language should be clear and easily accessible. Be sure to define any medical terms, acronyms and procedures. We’re writing to ordinary people, not scoliosis experts.

Concrete

The more specific a post is, the better. Whenever possible, use specific examples to make your points. This is especially helpful for explaining the more complex intricacies of scoliosis.

Authoritative

We’re looking for scoliosis experts or those with real experience to share their knowledge and expertise with the scoliosis community. Referencing reputable studies and publications can help to lend some authority. We just ask that you link to them within the post. Dr. Josh is also happy to provide support and assistance with references and research articles upon request.

Related to Scoliosis

We’re dedicated to making life easier for scoliosis patients, and we want our blog to reflect that.

Our blog categories are Historical Insights, News, Personal Experiences, Research, Treatment and Understanding Scoliosis. It would be excellent if your idea fit easily into one of those categories.

Alternative Treatment Focus

Like CLEAR as an organization, many of our blog posts revolve around innovative ways to treat scoliosis without surgery or bracewear. If you’re planning to discuss treatment, we prefer alternative treatment methods for scoliosis. We’ve seen first hand the vast difference these methods can make in a patient’s quality of life.
